Go big, or go home!
Parkdale Cromdale Community League Centre hosted a free Fathers Day BBQ are Borden Park. We had a larger than anticipated turn out with almost 1000 people present throughout the event. We were absolutely thrilled to have so many incredible people come out and celebrate. The league served hotdogs, hamburgers, watermelon, chips, juice and candy for the children. In keeping with our vision of inclusivity, there were halal and vegetarian options available. People had the chance to connect with others in their community and new friendships were formed. The children were provided with some water toys to keep them busy and cool on a hot summers day. The children were very excited to be celebrating with their families. This event has showed us the value and the need for community building. In today’s society where every second is accounted for it is rather refreshing to take a step back and spend some time socializing with those around us. We want to give a big thanks to all the amazing fathers, mothers, grandparents and guardians for all they do to keep their families happy. We want to thank everyone who came out to help us celebrate. We want to thank all the volunteers from Parkdale Cromdale Community League, Twin Parks Community League, as well as the McCauley clean up crew for helping out today!
