Road Closures, Parking and Neighborhood Impacts

The City of Edmonton and Commonwealth Stadium are excited to host the Canadian Football League (CFL) Championship game, the 2018 Grey Cup, on November 25. We would like to make you aware of the impacts in your neighborhood leading up to and on game day. However, Here’ all the exciting events happening during Grey Cup!



Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre Closure

On November 23 the aquatic centre, indoor field house, indoor track and gymnasium at Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre will be closed, with the fitness centre remaining open. On November 24 and 25 the facility will be fully closed. Facility patrons are asked to use other recreation centres such as Clareview Community Recreation Centre, Kinsmen Sports Centre, and Londonderry Leisure Centre on these dates.



On November 25, residential parking restrictions will be in effect in the neighbourhoods surrounding the stadium starting at 11:30 hours and stopping at 20:00 hours and the parking lots at Commonwealth Stadium and Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre will be closed.

In order to accommodate traffic around Commonwealth Stadium during the actual Grey Cup game, additional traffic and parking restrictions will be in place starting at 9:00 hours and ending at 22:00 hours.


Road Closures

On November 25, Stadium Road will be closed to all vehicle traffic beginning at 11 a.m. and will reopen at approximately 11 p.m. Additional Road Closures include:

•      11OAvenue, 90 Street to 92 Street will operate as a one way westbound

  • 10:30a.m.- 11p.m.

•      Restricted access on 107A Avenue eastbound from 95 Street to 92 Street.

  • 11a.m.- 11pm.

•       Travel delays on

  • 112 Avenue from 82 Street to 95 Street, 12 - 11p.m.

  • 86 Street from Stadium Road to 115 Avenue 12 - 11p.m.

  • 95 Street from 107A Avenue to 112 Avenue 12- 11 p.m.

  • 82 Street, Jasper Avenue to 115 Avenue 12 -11 p.m.
